Uganda Food Change Lab publication launched

In April 2016, KRC, Hivos and IIED organised a People’s Summit on Food in Fort Portal, Uganda. The meeting brought together a variety of people to discuss how to change the region’s food system so it can provide affordable and nutritious food, create sustainable jobs and drive green and inclusive growth.

The outcomes of this summit are described in the Uganda Food Change Lab publication. The publication starts by summarizing key pointers of the evidence that was collected by KRC and IIED, taken both from the field and literature and covering rural food insecurity, trade, environmental health and urban food provision. Also, a description of the process steps of our Change Lab approach are touched upon as well as the other Food Change Labs that Hivos and IIED are running. The report ends with a list of commitments that were made by diverse stakeholder groups.
